Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Davido, Other Top Nigerians Missing On 2016 “Time 100 Most Influential List”

Today, Time Magazine released its annual list of 100 Most Influential People in the world, and no Nigerian made the list.

Last year, the list was released on April 16, 2015 and four Nigerians – Muhammadu Buhari, Oby Ezekwesili, Chimamanda Adichie and Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau – made the list.

👉 In the new list, International stars like Nicki Minaj, Usain Bolt, Taraji P. Henson, Donald Trump, Barack Obama and others were featured (See full list HERE).

With the recent international success, deals, and media exposure Nigerian pop stars like Wizkid, Davido, Don Jazzy and others have been getting, many pundits wonder why not a single one of them made the list.

According an analyst who spoke with our corespondent, ‘I know Nigerians have made the list in the past and those years we didn’t have as much numbers, influence and exposure as this so I’m surprised and I wonder how they even come about this lists’.

Another pundit said, ‘I’m not impressed with the list. Where is Davido? Where is Wizkid? Where is Linda Ikeji on the list? But then again we are in the era of passing blames so maybe we should blame Goodluck Jonathan or the wailing wailers should blame Buhari for this too’.

In 2013, five Nigerian entertainers, Don Jazzy, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Chiwetel Ejiofor, P-Square and novelist, Ngozi-Adichie Chimamanda made list of 100 Most Influential Africans by Time Magazine.
